The process involved when concrete grinding & polishing utilises the application of diamond abrasives, these are harder diamonds than you would use to grind marble or softer stones. Depending on the condition of the concrete will determine what grit level to carry out the first initial cut, once the first prep cut is complete it will be followed by several further cuts of finer diamond that will polish the surface to a high gloss finish. The application of a consolidation densifier is required at the later stages of polishing and will harden the surface further before a final fine diamond polish and application of sealant if required.
If a particular appearance is required and a colour or design is chosen to re-colour the concrete this will be applied after the 5th stage of diamond before hardening the surface and the final diamond polishing process is carried out. The applications of dyes and stains can provide limitless beautiful designs and clearly marked zones on areas of industrial use.
