To achieve superior results, our team uses state-of-the-art equipment and specialist techniques tailored to your floor’s material. The restoration typically begins with diamond grinding using industrial-grade machinery. We grind the stone surface to remove ingrained dirt, old sealants, rough patches and lippage (uneven tile edges) – essentially stripping away the worn top layer of stone to reveal fresh material. This grinding phase can eliminate deep scratches or etching and, if necessary, remove up to ~5 mm of the surface to correct severe damage or wear. By leveling the floor and eradicating surface defects, we create an ideal foundation for the subsequent honing and polishing steps.

After grinding, we hone the stone with progressively finer diamond abrasives to refine the surface. Honing smooths out any minor imperfections left from grinding and brings the floor to a satin-smooth texture. Once the surface is properly honed, our technicians proceed to polish the stone to the desired finish. We can achieve anything from a soft matte honed look to a high-gloss mirror polish that vividly brings out the stone’s natural colors and veining. Using a sequence of increasingly fine grit diamond pads – often starting around 50–100 grit and finishing at ultra-fine 1500, 3000, or even 3500 grit – we gradually hone and polish the floor until it achieves a flawless reflection or an elegant sheen as specified. The end result is a dramatic transformation: dull, scratched stone is restored to a smooth, light-reflective finish that looks like new, with the beauty and shine of the natural stone fully revived.

Following polishing, we always apply a premium stone sealant to protect the restored surface. This sealing step is crucial for the longevity of your floor – an impregnating seal penetrates the stone, guarding it against water, oils, and stains while still allowing the material to “breathe”. A properly sealed stone floor is more resistant to daily wear and easier to maintain, helping to preserve that fresh polished look for as long as possible. In addition, our team can carry out any needed repairs during the restoration process. If there are cracked or loose tiles, chips, or deteriorated grout lines, we will repair or replace them as part of the project. This might involve replacing broken sections of tile, filling chips with color-matched epoxy, or re-grouting areas so that the entire floor surface is structurally sound and visually uniform.
