Beaver Floorcare were asked to provide a solution for Wolverhampton Civic Hall as their wooden floors were displaying signs of slip, we were engaged by one of the councils surveyors (Steve Evans) to test various products and report the findings.
The products that were tested consisted of Bona Anti-Slip, Watco Deckgrip, Junckers Friction Plus and Granwax Clearsafe. We sanded a portion of floor, applied all four products and allowed them to cure before testing them a week later and reporting the findings to Steve Evans.
The outright performer with an average PTV of over 50 was Granwax Clearsafe. We were asked to provide a quotation to sand and refinish the Wulfrun Hall & Stage, three Bar areas plus the Main Civic Hall & Stage totalling over 1800m2. This was submitted along with 2 other contractors quotes however Beaver Floorcare were successful in winning the works.
We not only carried out the sanding and refinishing works using Granwax Clearsafe, we also repaired multiple boards where cracks and failing boards needed replacement prior to the main works.
After the works were complete we pendulum tested the floors to demonstrate the effectiveness of the process and provide the client with the necessary reports and paperwork show their due diligence.
We also advised them of the correct maintenance procedures so they could continue providing their customers with safe, fit for purpose floors.
